Irene Among (ESR 12) is attending the International Sustainable Development Research Society (ISDRS) conference convened by a consortium of six universities in Stockholm from 15th to 17th June 2022. This year’s theme is “sustainable development and courage: culture, art and human rights.” Irene will deliver a presentation on mechanisms for minimising contradictions and building synergies in South Africa and Uganda’s social protection systems. She will present to participants under the “Governance, power and institutions and weakness of SDGs: Legal aspects of sustainable development” track. Irene will also get the opportunity to learn from and network with peers, professors and journal editors in a pre-conference PhD workshop on 14th June 2022. She will benefit from feedback on research ideas and tips on academic writing.
