Akua Martinson
Before joining the ADAPTED programme, Akua worked with the Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung für internationale Kooperation (DSIK-Western Africa). As Project Officer, she contributed to designing and implementing training programmes to build the capacity of owners and management of microfinance institutions within the microfinance sector of the Finance industry in Ghana. Akua has a Master of Science degree in Development Economics from the School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS), University of London and prior to that, an undergraduate degree in Economics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology in Ghana. Her research explores the relationship between the formal sector employment effects of minimum wages, economic growth and poverty reduction in developing economies.
