ADAPTED Early Stage Researcher Guido Maschhaupt of the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) is co-convener of a panel at the EADI/IOB 2026 General Conference "Shaping Sustainable Futures: Global Challenges, (G)local Solutions?" together with Dr. Hangala Siachiwena, University of Cape Town.
For their panel "Finding the Democratic Dividend: Political Accountability and Citizen-State Relations in Africa" they are currently seeking contributions that interrogate whether and which politicians’ actions enhance democratic accountability; whether they empower citizens or create dependency; and how these dynamics vary across contexts.
