Four of the ADAPTED Early Stage Researchers completed so-called non-academic secondment periods at one of the ADAPTED partner organisations of a duration of three or six months: Non-academic partners of ADAPTED which hosted secondments consist of two European Development Finance Institutions (DEG, AFD) from Germany and France and one Non-Governmental Organisation (SOMO) from the Netherlands. Non-academic secondments were implemented for ESRs whose projects are closely related to the areas of work of these organisations. The intersectoral and transferable skills acquired by the ESRs during the secondments at non-academic partner organisations include project and self-management skills, important insights into the functioning of the host organisation and its business networks, and new sets of interorganisational skills.
