After a successful and very insightful first Annual Meeting in Bochum at the beginning of the year, the second meeting bringing together the entire ADAPTED consortium took place at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam from 28 November to 2 December 2022 in The Hague, Netherlands.
Organized in close cooperation with the ISS, the Annual Meeting started with the SDG Forum taking place on the first two meeting days. The Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) presented the current state of their research projects by means of poster presentations. Furthermore, the development of the ESR’s research designs was discussed in subsequent presentation sessions. Feedback was not only provided by peers, but also by academic supervisors, African partners and Advisory Board members who joined both physically or online.
The Annual Meeting continued with network-wide training sessions on fieldwork preparation, safety and security in fieldwork as well as academic writing and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Moreover, the Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (DEG), introduced and discussed its ‘Development Effectiveness Rating’ with the ESRs.
Apart from the official programme, evening activities allowed for informal gatherings, exchange and networking among the participants who joined the meeting physically in The Hague.
