Dr. Beneberu is an associate professor of rural development. He has been teaching in Bahir Dar and other Universities in Ethiopia for the last fourteen years. He has also served as department head and chair of rural livelihoods and sustainable development research at the department of rural development and agricultural extension at Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia. Dr. Beneberu has participated in several research projects including projects funded by USAID (CIAFS), Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL-Germany), Colgate University (USA), UNEP, and VLIR-UOS (Belgium) and has supervised both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Ethiopia and abroad. Dr. Beneberu holds a Ph.D. Degree in International Development Studies (IDS) from the Ruhr University of Bochum, Germany. In addition, he holds MA in Development Management from the Ruhr University of Bochum, Germany, and an MA in Development Studies from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa.
