Maarten Hietland
Maarten Hietland works at the Dutch NGO Centre for Research on Multinational Corporations (SOMO) and specializes in research on corporate tax avoidance by multinational corporations and research on the political economy of natural resource extraction. Maarten also works as supervisor of Bachelor theses in international economics at the Radboud University and as independent consultant. Before joining SOMO in 2019, Maarten worked as a researcher and policy advisor on tax and inequality at Oxfam Novib in the Netherlands. Maarten holds a Bachelor in Political sciences from the Radboud University Nijmegen, a Master in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam and a master in International Economics from the University of Utrecht.
