ADAPTED ESRs conducting Field Research Secondments

Since the last months and weeks, the ADAPTED ESRs have been setting off to start their fieldwork secondments. In the course of these secondments, the ESRs are collecting primary data for their individual research projects and are conducting research stays with their African partner universities. Among the partner universities are the University of Cape Town (UCT), the University of the Western Cape (UWC), also located in Cape Town, as well as Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.

Apart from Uganda and South Africa, in the following months ESRs will also conduct field research in Kenya and Ghana. In the case of the first ESR Project "The Effect of Foreign Direct Investment and Official Development Assistance on Job Creation and Poverty Reduction", the empirical analysis will be based on the analysis of cross-country secondary data. Therefore, Muhammad Saleh (ESR 1) is currently conducting a six-moth non-academic secondment with "Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungs GmbH (DEG).
