Jamin Masinde

Jamin Masinde is currently an associate Professor of Sociology in Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and a Doctor of philosophy (PhD) in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India. He has been teaching in the Department of Sociology and Psychology, Moi University from 1989, rising from the position of Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in November 2015. He teaches and supervises doctoral students has to date graduated over ten fellows. Academic areas of research include Rural Sociology and Community Development, Participatory Development, Research Methodology, Globalization, Renewable Energy and Entrepreneurship. He was held various administrative positions in the University. He is involved in several joint research projects as well as initiated numerous local and global institutional collaborations. He has widely published, attended and presented papers in Conferences, Seminars and Workshops both locally and internationally.
