Luiza Leite de Queiroz
Luiza is a qualified lawyer admitted to the Brazilian Bar. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) with an exchange semester abroad at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra (Coimbra, Portugal), a Master of Laws in International and Comparative Law (LL.M) from Trinity College Dublin (Dublin, Ireland) and a Master of International Affairs (MA) from the Hertie School (Berlin, Germany). She has worked in public bodies, such as the Brazilian Federal Prosecution Service ("Ministério Público Federal") and the State Court of Rio de Janeiro, and in private legal practice at a law firm in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Her experience in the realm of international development stems from working for the German development agency (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit - GIZ) in Lusaka (Zambia), as well as for a development consultancy based in Berlin (Germany). She has volunteering experience with Caritas and a London-based anti-corruption NGO. Before joining the ADAPTED Programme, Luiza worked as a freelance legal consultant getting involved in projects that ranged from anti-corruption/transparency initiatives to building legal compliance databases and drafting human rights reports to be used in asylum-related cases.
